Our History

In 1946, founder and Professional Engineer Ernest Harry “Ernie” Price purchased the assets and rights to a Winnipeg agency business operated by Frank Chester; on June 24, 1949, the company was officially incorporated as E.H. Price Limited.

1946

Ernie Purchases Rights to Winnipeg Agency.

1949

Incorporation

The company is officially incorporated as E.H. Price Limited, and founded on the principles of business integrity, first class service, innovation and commitment to people – principles that still define us today.

The 1950’s

Expansion

E.H. Price expands to serve Western Canada, opening new branches in Edmonton (1950), Vancouver (1952), Calgary (1955), and Regina (1958). The first distribution warehouse was also founded in Edmonton during this decade.

The 1960’s

Manufacturing Begins

A distinct and independent Manufacturing Division is created to produce certain air distribution products under license, leading to the development of Price Industries Limited.

1961

E.H. Price Moves East

With the booming western Canadian sales activity, E.H. Price moved into the fiercely competitive eastern Canadian market. Offices were opened in Toronto (1961), Montreal (1962), Ottawa (1964) and London (1966).

the 1970’s

Expanding Product Line

E.H. Price continues to partner with other top tier manufacturers such as Tamco, Nederman, Neptronic, Flanders and many more to complete our air distribution product offering.

1970

New Lab Opens

A new laboratory launches to bolster sales/engineering support and product development. This laboratory quickly proves to be one of the greatest tools at our team’s disposal, becoming Winnipeg’s Price Research Center North (PRCN).

1974

Greenheck Joins

E.H. Price begins representation of the Greenheck Fan Corporation, a relationship that becomes the ideal template for representation of other leading manufacturers.

1975

The Computer Age Begins!

The first mainframe computer used by the company was purchased, beginning the process of converting of all data processing to automated systems, leading to the Price Data Center. The Dartmouth sales office was also added this year.

1977

Gerry Joins E.H. Price

With Ernie have long since retired (but still serving as Chairman of the Board), company President Gerry Law recruited Gerry Price to join the E.H. Price team.

The 1980’s

Further Expansion

Additional offices were added in Moncton (1984) and Hamilton (1986), followed by an expansion in Toronto to a new 21,000 square foot facility (1987). Montreal also moved to a new 10,500 square foot home in 1988.

1986

Gerry becomes President

Gerry Price becomes President and Chief Executive Officer of E.H. Price Limited, commits the company to its long-term Vision, and first establishes the widely communicated company Values that continue to shape and define us to this day.

2003

Manufacturing in North America

Price Industries Limited opens a North American manufacturing facility at the E.H. Price Toronto sales office located at the 90 Pippin Road location in Vaughn, ON.

the 2010’s

E.H. Price Goes Coast-to-Coast

E.H. Price expands to 19 locations coast-to-coast and represents over 100 trusted suppliers.

2015

Full Service Agency

E.H. Price Toronto moves from Scarborough to its current location in Woodbridge, ON with a substantially larger warehouse facility to better serve our Greater Toronto Area customers.

2018

Toronto Learning Centre Opens

The Toronto Learning Centre opens its doors in November providing technical seminars to help educate the industry.

2024

Moncton Branch Opens

A new office opens in Moncton, NB in January 2024, expanding our presence in the Atlantic region and complementing our existing Dartmouth office in Nova Scotia.
